Abdus-salam Tasks Lecturers on Efficient Courseware Preparation

A lecturer in the Department of Arabic and Transnational Studies, University of Ilorin, Dr Ambali Babatunde Abdus-salam, has urged academic staff of the University to always prepare good courseware in order to enhance their visibility.
Dr Abdus-salam made the call on Monday, November 2, 2026, while delivering a presentation at the Faculty of Arts Courseware Revitalisation Exercise held at the Faculty Board Room.
Dr Abdus-salam and Dr I. Abdulmalik, also of the Department, represented the Faculty of Arts at the Courseware Revitalisation Training organised by the University earlier in the year. The training was facilitated by the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, Prof. L. O. Aina.
Dr Abdus-salam explained that preparing courseware is akin to planning for lectures, noting that anyone who fails to plan, plans to fail. He therefore stressed the need for adequate preparation to enable lecturers to impart the required level of knowledge to students.
Also speaking at the event, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ibrahim Abdulganiyu Jawondo, commended Dr Abdus-salam for what he described as a very thorough and thought-provoking presentation.
The Dean also thanked the Chairman of the University Library and Publication Committee, who is also the immediate past University Librarian, Prof. Abdulwahab Olanrewaju Issa, and Prof. O. C. Abikoye of the Department of Computer Science, for the training they facilitated for Dr Abdus-salam and his colleagues earlier in the year, which has proven beneficial to members of the Faculty.
Prof. Jawondo encouraged participants to adhere strictly to the advice offered by Dr Abdus-salam to ensure efficient service delivery to students and the larger society.
The event attracted lecturers from all the Departments in the Faculty.
